Study MP1 – Acceptance of mobile payment procedures in Germany

 

The availability of widely accepted mobile payment procedures is an important prerequisite for the economic success of business-to-consumer mobile commerce offers. Based on a set of acceptance criteria, an empirical study on the customers’ perspective on mobile payment procedures was conducted in 2002. The three main goals were: (1) Identifying the reasons for use or refusal, (2) determining the relevance of the different payment scenarios and (3) analyzing the importance of each acceptance criteria. Furthermore, potential mobile payment service providers were analyzed.
