The major characteristic of mobile solutions is the opportunity to completely integrate mobile workplaces into intra- and inter-company business processes. Mobile workplaces cover a wide range of heterogeneous job profiles that could not be fully supported with stationary IT. Some industries are more eligible for the integration of mobile business processes than others. These industries generate added value due to efficiency and effectiveness gains by supporting mobility of goods (e.g. products, spare parts), of machines (e.g. construction machine, truck) and of employees. In addition, added value can be achieved by using for example RFID tags for tracking and tracing within the production and logistics process.

Worthy target markets are those in which typically a high number of mobile employees working in the field. Examples are IT service, utility companies and facility management. Mobile technology gains more importance in the health care industry, the building industry, for emergency units and the vending industry as well.
