Who we are

Video of the research group

wi-mobile is part of the University of Augsburg and thus a „research corporation with a consultancy department“. Mobile markets move too fast for a research approach without direct link to practice. Only close cooperation with industry and own transfer competencies enable us to identify and solve the relevant research questions.

Thus, the research topics of wi-mobile do not follow mainstream, but scientific interest. That is why our research typically covers those areas that do not show necessary progress or where new potentials remain unused. Researchers create new knowledge – not an empty expression for us but the cause of our actions. Those who want to be successful on the market do not need mainstream but accurate analysis and effective solutions. Our central theme: To bring the market forward.

How we educate students

We believe that education needs not only to be scientifically demanding and methodologically well-founded but also include acquisition and application of current industry knowledge. For this reason our students learn their tools of the trade by being integrated in our research. They learn to solve real-world problems with applied research as well as to be assessed on results. They learn not to accept the next best answer but to go beyond that and find solutions that endure. A lot of work for them and for us – but the result is convincing. That is our working method.

In mobile and adjacent markets successful research and education can only be delivered by people that are active in these markets themselves. And after all, high-value research results are produced for being acted upon. For that reason, wi-mobile offers a wide range of consulting services in the area of Mobile Commerce / Mobile Business. We gladly assist you in meeting your challenges. Talk to us!
